Hello, I'm Anna. This blog will mainly be me rambling on about anything and everything! From my day to day life, to products I buy to any random thoughts I may have.

Cards
Just a wee post showing all the cards I've made recently, I'll do a proper update about my week afterwards!

I don't consider myself creative in any sense really (I'm more of a logic kinda gal) so making cards really takes effort for me. I think that's all the introduction that's needed so I'll get to the photos!

For the owner of my childhood nursery - they're closing it as they're going into fostering.

 My best friend's birthday card.

Not for a specific "occasion" really, just to put a smile one someone's face.

Two lovers silhouetted in hearts, just something I really liked!

M loves my Pikachu impression so it's something to make him chuckle!

A card for Jen (duh!) as part of my wee parcel of goodies.

My first silhouette card! It turned out not too bad!

That's it for now, I'll be updating with more pictures when I make new cards. I hope you all like the ones I've done so far!

MONDAY!

Today has been one of the best days I've had for a while. I caught up with two people I don't see all that often due to distance but when we do catch up it's always full of laughs, good chats and general banter. What more could you ask for from friends?

Craig

I don't see Craig all that often because we're both usually busy at different times and our schedules rarely match. I speak to him most days though, he's a class lad. (I'm only complementing him cause I know he's gonna be reading this! ;) I kid, he's sound.) Today was one of those rare days we were both free!

Ever since I've known Craig I've been promising to bake for him, so this morning I did, I'd made the decorations the night before because they take more effort than making the actual cakes and icing!

Craig is a photographer (and a good one at that! Go check out his website: http://www.craigbrownphotography.com/home), hence the camera, the picture on the cake next to that is his business logo.

A big Muse fan and a love of the Pars explains the bottom two cakes.

The middle two... Well, how to put this nicely? Craig is a huge pervert, I think that's the best explanation for the underwear inspired cakes! I have to say, the bra cupcake comes equipped with a crackin' pair of tits! (NB: NOT modelled on my own chebs, or any underwear I own.)

These cupcakes were good enough to render Craig speechless AND feature them in his daily blip. Quite proud of myself!

I'm not sure what else to say about Craig really, he's one of these friends where we barely see each other but when we do it's like no time at all has passed! I couldn't really ask for much more.

Gemma

I haven't known Gemma all that long but I class her as one of my closest friends. You know when you meet someone and you just "click"? Well it was like that the first time we met and hasn't changed since! I can talk to her about anything and she gives me her honest opinion, she's not afraid to tell me I'm being a tit!

I just met Gemma for a quick coffee and catch up once she'd finished work. It was lovely. We had a good chat about stuff that's going on in our lives but also a good laugh, I like that we can jump from one to the other without hesitation.

I made Gemma some cake as well, because I'm just that nice!

I don't think these need much of an explanation unlike Craig's. Gemma likes pink!

Gemma is a fellow blogger (although that isn't how we met, long story short, we are both very "elite"), go check out and follow her blog: http://gemmawright.blogspot.com/

That's all for Monday really. This week is a busy one so expect more blog updates!

Ciao for now lovers!

Good evening bloggers!

I've had a busy busy few days and I feel so much better for it. I'm one of these people who can't focus on things unless she's occupied by something else. If I sit on my bum and do nothing my mind stews and everything seems worse.

I'll do an update about the weekend and then create a separate post about Monday after I've done this one!

So, my weekend...

Saturday

Well, I'm a member of a wee group of people on Facebook and this week we decided to write each other letters. We did a randomisation of names and whoever we got we had to write a letter/card etc. It's such a lovely idea, it's nice to know someone has taken the time to make you something/write something especially for you that only you will read. It's so personal. I love it! I haven't got my letter yet, but will show you what I sent the girl I got.

A card, a wee goodie bag, a dog shaped photo frame and you can just see the bottom of my letter poking out the card!

A close up of the card, I took it on my phone so it's a little blurry!
I've gotten right into my card making recently, I've missed being creative. It's a side of me that doesn't come out very often.

A couple of my other cards:

Lover's silhouette - doesn't really take a genius to work out who this is for!

My old nursery is closing and the leaving party is on Saturday, they're having a big send off. This is my card for them.

My nursery was private, with my Dad not around my Mum had no other choice but to send me to a private nursery as it had longer opening hours. They were a big help throughout my childhood and I have some lovely memories of being there. They were a very hands on nursery, they would do things that my Mum often struggled to do such as providing swimming lessons, taking us out to the museum and Botanic Gardens etc. They were also a big help to my Mum with things like my skincare. When I was a baby I had chromic eczema all over my body. I had to be bandaged from head to foot every morning and every evening. Mum didn't often have time for this in the mornings so they offered to do it for her. Just lots of little things like that, they're all amazing people and it'll be nice to see them all again next Saturday.

This Saturday I did a few other things, I ordered some new furniture for my bedroom. Those of you who know the situation will know WHY I need new furniture. I ordered some things from the Clovis range from Asda, they're lovely. Plain white with silver handles, pretty classy (keep all comments to yourself!).

So, I've ordered a new wardrobe, 2 sets of drawers and a bedside table. I think they're lovely. Quite plain but that's what I like about the. They'll match any colour scheme.  It'll provide enough storage for me without cluttering my room. I want a de-cluttered, clean, spacious room.

It goes well with my new colour scheme too, but we'll get to that!

I went to Tesco on Saturday as I had seen some stationary related things that I liked. I didn't get much as I still have a lot left over from college but I wanted a new diary - I'm getting old, if I don't write things down I will forget what I'm meant to be doing! I also saw a notebook, a cheapy but sturdy folder and a couple of magazine file things to keep everything neat and ordered.

Nothing all that special but I still like them. Goes along with my classy theme for my room!

That's about it for Saturday really!

Sunday
Sunday wasn't a busy day but it felt pretty stressful! I went to Homebase with Mumma to get some paint samples to test on my walls. After deliberating over colours and different shades I finally decided. Painting will commence next week! I'll post before and after pictures when it's done!

I also made cupcake toppers for a friend I met up with on Monday, you'll see them in my next post, keep an eye out!

Cheerio!

For those of you who know, my other half is rather artistic and I am rather girly (sometimes!). Combine the 2 and what do you get? Fasntastically painted nails of course!

Here are a few for now, there are more but I can't find my card reader! Bollocks. I'll have a hunt tomorrow and see if I can find it!

(NB: These are not in chronological order, they're in the order I found them on my computer!)

1. Pacman!

I had seen this on a picture on Google and instantly wanted it! I'm a Pacman geek, as is M. He made it look completely effortless. It must have been so difficult as my nails are teeny tiny! I loved it then and still do now!

2. Domo Kun!

 3. A Bumbley-Bee!

I saw this on a YouTube video I believe, the girl doing the video had this on her nails. I begged M for ages to do it, it was tricky as I didn't have my Nail Dotters then, it was all done with an old paintbrush of mine. I loved the finished result and that each nail is unique!

4. Paw Prints!

5. Animalistic!

I know what you're going to say, and yes I agree, I am a horrible person for not updating in literally months!

So much has gone on in the past few months I don't even know where to start!

Firstly, and most importantly, I secured a place at university. As of the 6th of September I will be a student bum - I cannot wait! Off to Napier to study Accounting with Human Resource Management! The next 4 years are going to be so hectic!

Secondly, I had my operation in May, just a wee diagnostic laparoscopy but I was still bricking it! The didn't find anything, which was on the one hand a relief but on the other hand a slight let down. I was hoping my Doctor would be able to give me some sort of explanation as to where this pain is coming from, however, it wasn't meant to be. I have my follow up appointment next week so I will let you know how that goes!

Thirdly, I'm redecorating my room. It's time for a change. Lilac was sooooo teenage me(!) I'm getting some new furniture as well, got my new desk earlier today. It's stunning. Black glass with 6 little silver squares marking where the legs are underneath. Gorgeous. I can imagine many late nights trying to complete coursework before Monday morning! Ordering some new wardrobes/drawers tomorrow and off to pick out some paint samples at the weekend! I'm thinking a rose taupe on the far wall with the other 3 a light taupe-y colour so it doesn't just look "pink". I think I get over excited about these things but I just feel like it'll be a fresh start before uni. Which is what I think is needed.

Fourthly (that's a word right?!), I have a fringe! My first proper fringe in about 4 years! I let the last one grow out and just kept it long. It finally got to me, that I've had the same hairstyle since I was about 16, so I grabbed the scissors and hacked until I was happy! I think I did not too bad a job? (See below!)

It kind of goes along with my "fresh start" I think, new hair, new room, new me sort of thing.

What else to tell you? Those of you who I'm close to will know what has happened recently and why I can't/won't divulge it on my blog. However, let's just say things are happening, there is a plan in place and the necessary steps are being taken to avoid a repeat performance!

Until next time!

It's been a while I know buuuut I wanted to actually have something to write about!

My Auntie, who lives in London, came up for a wee visit this week which was nice! I haven't seen her since last January which is just crap! Anyway, she came up, we swapped Christmas/birthday presents etc... lots of cupcake related things and jewellery for me - the woman knows me well! Got 3 new charms for my bracelet and some gorgeous black coral earrings from Mexico :) LOVELOVELOVE!

We went to IKEA on Thursday as I would like a new desk for my room as mine is wrecked! I hate IKEA.. It just gives me a headache! Didn't manage to get a desk, I need to measure my room and have a proper think about it as I want something that's going to last me a long long time -  not something that I'll get bored of in 3 years. The only thing I got was a wee piping set - I know it's IKEA but I've had some baking stuff from them before and it's actually really good quality at a brilliant price.. win-win situation!

We didn't really do much else while she was up, just relaxed, chatted, I tidied my room, it was a nice few wee days :)

My Auntie went home on Friday... Back down to London. I had this masquerade party so went hunting for a mask up and down Morningside - they had nothing! I bought a sparkly top hat instead which I didn't even wear...

Anyway on to the party - it was awesome! Caught up with a few people I haven't seen since school and met some new people too. Left early to go get chips... Which, as I wasn't allowed to eat them in the cab, I ended up eating in my bed (because I'm THAT amazing). Had a really nice cab driver as well, chatted the whole way home. I love cabbies like that, it makes the fare worth it when they actually have a personality!

This morning I had a work trial at a local cattery. It snowed overnight so needless to say that a mile trek through the snow, in my trainers, with a hangover, was not the most pleasant thing I have ever experienced! However, the wee cattery (I say "wee" - it can hold up to 140 cats in individual chalets, not including if the cats are sharing!), was so nice, everyone was so friendly and it satisfies my "crazy cat lady"-ness :D

That's about it really, it's been a busy few days but a good few days! Next week will be more mental so expect lots of new blog posts!

Bye for now loves!

It's been a bit of a mixed day for me. Full of triumph and disaster!

Firstly, triumph: Now, I know it's not exactly a difficult thing to do but I made a wee quiche today. I've been promising my Mum I'd make her one for about a month now and today I finally got off my bum and made it!

Here is the proof for all you non-believers ;):

(The "burnt looking black bits" are mushrooms.)

The triumph is more related to me actually feeling motivated to do something for a change, the last few months haven't been the best health wise, which as some of you will know can knock your motivation flat on its arse! I felt it was quite an achievement as I haven't felt like baking for a while, which isn't me at all!

Now on to disaster, as I was feeling very girly today I decided to don a dress. It's one of my favourite dresses and I'm sure a lot of you would recognise it. However, what I did not realise today, was just how windy it was... I went out to feed my Auntie's cats (she's away on holiday) and as I got out the car my dress decided to defy gravity. Just at this point about 6 cars decided to drive past me... Thus: humiliation. It's safe to say I won't be wearing this dress in windy weather again!

That's about all for today loves, away to see my best friend and his sexy new 3D TV tonight!

Hello (currently non-existent) follower people.

I have a masquerade party next week, so me and my friend decided to go into town today to go for a wee hunt for a mask. Every single shop that sells masks was shut. What is up with that?! Every. Single. Shop. I must admit I'm quite disappointed with the shops in town as it now means I have to trek my way in later this week when I have other things to do!

It was at least a slightly productive day though, we managed to get our friend a present for his birthday so that's at least one thing off my to do list!

I also got the (not so) new BarryM Nail Effects Nail Paint - the one that crackles when you put it on. I was slightly sceptical as I haven't heard amazing reviews of it. However, I applied it not long after I got home and I have to say... I love it! It looks so different and each nail has a unique "pattern" on it. Don't think I'll be returning to "plain" nails anytime soon!

Also picked up a couple of the MUA products (£1 per item at Superdrug). For cheap drug-store make up their products are pretty good quality. Their eyeshadows are very pigmented and don't fade at all, even if worn all day and at such a low price I'd say that's pretty impressive!

That's all for today loves, just a wee quickie ;)
